LOB is a corpus of British English texts published in 1961, and is a British counterpart of the BROWN Corpus of American English. The texts were sampled to represent written British English of the time, and cover the same genres of writing as the BROWN Corpus: press reportage and editorials, books of factual writing, biographies, government and institutional documents, academic text and fiction.
